1. Why choose an Eaton PDU?
Eaton is a major player in power distribution and protection (PDU and used UPS). Its ePDU distribution units are known for:
- 💰 Excellent value for money compared to APC or Raritan.
- 🔌 Proven reliability in data centers and server rooms.
- 📊 A complete range from basic to managed with per-outlet measurement.
- 🔗 Cable locking (anti-disconnection security) on many models.
2. The Eaton ePDU G3 range
The ePDU G3 series comes in four levels, depending on your monitoring needs:
- ePDU Basic (EBAB): simple power distribution, without measurement. Economical and robust.
- ePDU Metered (EMAB): consumption display at the input or per outlet, to prevent overloads and optimize circuit load.
- ePDU Switched: remote switching of each outlet — remote reboot of equipment, power-up sequencing.
- ePDU Managed: the premium model — per-outlet measurement + switching + network monitoring (SNMP, web interface), ideal for data centers and energy billing.

3. Formats and ratings
Eaton ePDUs are available in:
- Vertical 0U: mounted on the rear rack post, without occupying rack units — ideal for high density.
- Horizontal 1U / 2U: for front access and a moderate number of outlets.
Power side: inputs 16A or 32A, single-phase or three-phase, with output plugs IEC C13 and C19 and connection IEC 60309. To properly size the rating according to your equipment, use our PDU calculator (see the PDU guide).
