📦 Product Overview

The IBM 10N7249 card is a 1-port 4 Gb/s PCI Express Fibre Channel adapter (Feature Code 5773 / CCIN 5773) designed for IBM Power Systems servers. Based on the Emulex LightPulse LPE11000 chip, it offers high-performance SAN connectivity via an LC (short-wave) fiber optic connector and supports speeds of 1, 2, and 4 Gbps with automatic maximum speed negotiation.

It installs in any PCIe x4, x8, or x16 slot and supports Fibre Channel topologies point-to-point, arbitrated loop, and fabric (classes 2 and 3). The card allows distances of 500 m at 1 Gbps with 50/125 µm fiber, or up to 10 km using IBM FC switches with long-range optics.
