❓ Is this reader compatible with my billing software?
The eS-KAP-Ad is SESAM-Vitale TLA V4.00 certified and compatible with all CNDA-approved software managing the TLA 4.00 protocol (Addendum 7). It is not locked to a specific software provider, allowing you to change your professional software without changing the portable card reader. However, check with your software provider for compatibility with TLA version 4.10+ if needed.
❓ Can I use it both at the office and during home visits?
Absolutely. This is the main advantage of this mobile card reader terminal (TLA). At the office, it connects to the PC via USB to upload/download electronic care sheets (FSE). On the go, it operates autonomously on a rechargeable Li-ion battery, with WiFi or Bluetooth connection for secure teletransmission of electronic care sheets (FSE) to the Health Insurance.
❓ Which healthcare professions can use this device?
The eS-KAP-Ad is designed for prescribing doctors (general practitioners, specialists) as well as medical auxiliaries: independent nurses (IDEL), physiotherapists (MKDE), midwives, podiatrists, and speech therapists. It supports up to 20 healthcare professionals registered simultaneously on the same device.
❓ Is the device compatible with Windows 10 and 11?
The eS-KAP-Ad is officially certified for Windows XP SP2, Vista, Seven and also works on Windows 10 in USB emulation mode (PSS or PC/SC protocol). For Windows 11, compatibility depends on the installed drivers and your business software — we recommend checking with your software provider. It is also compatible with Mac OS X from version 10.3.8 onwards.
❓ Is a subscription required to use this portable Vitale card reader?
The device works independently for reading Vitale cards, CPS, and mutual insurance cards, creating and signing FSE. However, advanced features like updating the Vitale card (TMAJ) and creating DMP require subscribing to the KAP&MAJ 2.0 contract from KAPELSE, sold separately and directly by the manufacturer.
