Data Circuit Termination Equipment (ETCD; in English, Data Communication Equipment or Data circuit-terminating equipment [DCE]) is a component that allows the connection of ETTD (data processing terminal equipment) to the data transmission channel.

This connection generally requires a signal adaptation that will be performed by an ETCD. ETCDs allow for adapting the data flow to the line conditions and performing analog-to-digital or digital-to-analog conversion.
