D-Link DGS-1210-52 Gigabit Smart Switch

The D-Link DGS-1210-52 integrates advanced management and security features via a user-friendly interface. Ideal for SMEs,

it mobilizes a minimum of computing resources. Equipped with second-generation "Green" technology for a

reasonable energy consumption, the DGS-1210-52 is a complete and affordable solution.

SEAMLESS INTEGRATION

The DGS-1210-52 features 48 ports of 10/100/1000 Mbps for connection to existing category 5 twisted pair cables.

Additionally, the last four ports of the DGS-1210-52 combine SFP and copper connectivity in a single port.

They thus provide the necessary flexibility for server connections via a fiber optic interface.

The default settings allow administrators to quickly and automatically configure the switch and users

to easily access the network.

COMPLETE LAYER 2 FUNCTIONS

Equipped with a full suite of layer 2 features, these switches offer IGMP snooping, port mirroring,

the Spanning Tree and LACP protocol. IEEE 802.3x flow control allows your servers to connect directly to the

switch for reliable and fast data transfers.

In simultaneous bidirectional mode at 2000 Mbps, the Gigabit ports provide your servers with high-speed data channels.

that limit data loss during transfer.

Regarding network maintenance, the system has a loop detection function and cable diagnostics.

Loop detection allows for identifying loops created by a port in order to automatically shut down the affected port.

Thanks to cable diagnostics, network administrators can quickly assess the quality of copper cables and set

the different types of errors.

QUALITY OF SERVICE AND BANDWIDTH CONTROL

The switch is perfectly suited for deployment in a VoIP environment. Indeed, it supports the Auto Voice function.

VLAN and the Differentiated Services Code Point (DSCP) for the VoIP application.

The Auto Voice VLAN function automatically routes traffic from an IP phone to an assigned VLAN,

which facilitates VoIP service.

With a higher priority and an individual VLAN, this feature ensures the quality and security of VoIP traffic.

DSCP marks parts of an IP packet to allow for the assignment of different service levels for the same network traffic.

With bandwidth control, the network administrator can reserve bandwidth for important functions

requiring high demands or higher priority.

STRENGTHEN YOUR NETWORK SECURITY

D-Link's unique Safeguard Engine backup engine protects the switch from traffic overloads caused by

virus attacks.

The switch also supports port-based 802.1X authentication, which allows for network authentication

with an external RADIUS server.

Moreover, thanks to the access control list, network security is strengthened.

And at the same time, you protect the internal computer network.

The DGS-1210-52 features an ARP spoofing detection option that protects the Ethernet network from potential attacks

leading to the detection of data frames on a LAN, traffic alteration, or its interruption by sending false messages

ARP to the network.

To prevent ARP spoofing, the switch uses access control lists to block invalid packets containing fake

ARP messages.

DHCP server filtering enhances the security system by filtering packets from rogue DHCP servers coming from

user ports, which prevents unauthorized assignment of IP addresses.

VERSATILE MANAGEMENT

The DGS-1210-52 is also equipped with a SmartConsole utility and a web management interface so that administrators

remotely control all levels of the network.

SmartConsole allows for the detection of multiple Web smart switches contained within the same L2 network segment. With this utility,

it is possible to keep the computer's IP address and have a simple initial configuration for smart switches.

Switches on the same L2 network segment, connected to the user's PC, are accessible in real-time via a screen.

The configuration settings of the switches and the basic configuration of detected devices (changing the password,

firmware upgrade) can thus be improved.

The DGS-1210-52 also supports D-View 6.0, D-Link's Network Management System and the command line interface

Compact command via Telnet.

The command line interface management of the switches is done via Telnet.

It is possible to adjust the most basic settings (changing the password, downloading firmware or configuration file

configuration, for example).

D-LINK GREEN PRODUCT

The DGS-1210-52 implements D-Link Green technology, an innovative concept that allows for energy savings

energy without sacrificing performance or functionality.

When devices connected to the switch are powered off, the switch places the corresponding port in sleep mode to

reduce energy consumption.

It also automatically detects the length of connected cables to cut power to the smaller connections

maximum 20 m cable).

The D-Link Green certification ensures that the switch complies with the European RoHS directives (Restriction of the use of

certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment) and WEEE (Waste electrical and electronic

and electronics).

The RoHS directive aims to restrict the use of certain hazardous substances during the manufacturing of equipment

electrical and electronic.

The WEEE directive, for its part, applies standards promoting the proper disposal and recycling of waste in order to

reduce the quantity.
