If the handset registers a long period of inactivity when established, if programmed to do so, it will send an emergency message so that, for example, an unconscious employee can be assisted. In addition to the sensors, the Snom M85 includes an optional lanyard attached to the phone that automatically triggers an alarm or a help call in the event of a sudden disconnection of the handset.

Programmable alarm key: the Snom M85 features a fully programmable alarm key. The phone can be programmed to send an automatic help call to any chosen number when this key is pressed.
